If it Itches…

2 Timothy 4:3-4 MSG
3  You’re going to find that there will be times when people will have no stomach for solid teaching, but will fill up on spiritual junk food—catchy opinions that tickle their fancy.
4  They’ll turn their backs on truth and chase mirages.

I am a person who loves watching news coverage.  To me it is like an adrenaline rush, especially when the headline is aligning to Biblical prophecy.  I get excited and can barely contain myself.  My mind begins to run in over-drive as portions of Scripture race through my thoughts.

Sometimes I have found myself to wake up during the night with a thought about a Scripture verse on my mind, then having to get out of bed and open up the Bible to look at the Scripture to see what it says in context with the Scripture verses surrounding it.

Over the past several decades a doctrine has emerged from the ‘word of faith’ ministries.  This doctrine says no matter what you cannot be critical of the leaders of what they preach and teach.  If you are critical about things being taught you are told that you are creating divisions.  You are to love no matter what so there is unity.  This teaching is false.

I will begin to show why I believe this type of teaching is dangerous. I want to quote the King James version of the verse I have mentioned above.

2 Timothy 4:3 KJV For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

Also let’s look at the following Scriptures:

2 Timothy 3:13-17 MSG
13  Unscrupulous con men will continue to exploit the faith. They’re as deceived as the people they lead astray. As long as they are out there, things can only get worse.
14  But don’t let it faze you. Stick with what you learned and believed, sure of the integrity of your teachers—
15  why, you took in the sacred Scriptures with your mother’s milk! There’s nothing like the written Word of God for showing you the way to salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
16  Every part of Scripture is God-breathed and useful one way or another—showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, training us to live God’s way.
17  Through the Word we are put together and shaped up for the tasks God has for us.

Christ also gave a warning while speaking to the disciples.

Mark 13:22-23 MSG
22  Fake Messiahs and lying preachers are going to pop up everywhere. Their impressive credentials and dazzling performances will pull the wool over the eyes of even those who ought to know better.
23  So watch out. I’ve given you fair warning.

I am convinced that if there is not a change or shakeup in North America many will lose their salvation.  There are going to be many that will hear those terrible words,

Matthew 25:41 MSG
41  “Then he will turn to the ‘goats,’ the ones on his left, and say, ‘Get out, worthless goats! You’re good for nothing but the fires of hell.

Many have the wrong assessment of what is of God.  Large congregations, wealth of money, and much more does not define being blessed of God.

People follow signs and wonders, but, for the most part these are lying signs and wonders.

I have seen the horrible results of these things.  I have witnessed people giving money to a evangelist, money that should have been for food and shelter, believing if they gave money God would bless them.  This prosperity gospel is a dangerous, lying doctrine that is rooted in one word, ‘greed’.

I pray that those who read this will turn aside from these false doctrines.  There needs to be a return to those who will stand up and expose preachers who are expounding these doctrines.

Yes, I believe in showing others love, but, sometimes love is shown by correction.

I love my daughter, but, when she was young sometimes correction was needed to keep her from harm.

God is also the same with His’ children.

Pray that God will shake up and root out these false doctrines being taught by ravenous wolves in the pulpits of North America.
