2  You have bedded me down in lush meadows, you find me quiet pools to drink from.

All my life even in active ministry I have always gave a negative connotation to the word “valley”.  The valley was the place I didn’t want to be. Like most in ministry I would preach that it is on the mountain where God wants me.

However, I believe now that the opposite is true.  We need the valley more than the mountain top. It is in those valleys that we find food, water, and rest.  On top of that mountain the air is thin, more of a stony landscape, no green grass, just the stubborn weed grows there.

So, when you find yourself in that  valley, eat, drink, and then rest!

I’ve always looked at the valley as a place of beauty. If I were to choose between a mountain top and a valley, I would choose the valley. I could look at that as an “easy” road because the mountain would be a harder journey…But really I just picture absolute beauty and peace. It may be one of the few things in life I don’t tend to overthink 😀
