On a Personal Note

This weekend was a complete nightmare for me.  I have osteoporosis and it has been wreaking havoc on my bones.  Over the years I have had several fractures due to it. I feel I may have another one.  My hip has been bothering me since Christmas. I have been seeing my doctor about it for some time now. Fractures mostly show up in x-rays, but, some do not and it requires and Cat scan or MRI. My doctor as of yesterday is now ordering one or the other of those tests.

So, I have basically been down in bed because it was the best place for me to deal with the extreme pain.  Thus, it is the reason why my presence has not been on here for a couple of days.  I have an excellent idea in mind for a post and I am hoping that a new med will help with the pain.

So dear reader, if my posts seem spotty please know that I really want to read all the posts that I follow.  So many to read it may take some time to catch up.

Take your time, there is no rush. First take care of you and all the posts and bloggers will wait patiently for you.
I hope your pain subsides and the scan can provide an answer.
    Wishing you well!

I’m so sorry to hear that you’re dealing with this much pain! I wish I could take away some of the pain for you. I would totally do that. I hope that the doctor is able to help.

Is there anything that can help with osteoporosis when you are diagnosed? Do you take glucosamine? Or is that just for arthritis?

No, osteoporosis is not arthritis. It is actually the weakening of the bones. I believe it is the density.
I always believed it was post menopausal women who were at risk. I found out that men are also at risk.
I have two relatives who have fallen and broke hips from it.
All women when they reach 50+ should talk to their doctors about it. It is truly a serious matter.

There is medication for it. It works over a period of five years. One pill weekly, taken without food thirty minutes before eating in the morning.
Sorry, I misunderstood your question Vee!

The doctors are still trying to reduce the pain. It is still with me, yet it has improved slightly Angie.

I hope you continue to see results as little as they may be. Constant pain is horrible 😦
