While doing some research about Good Mental Health I came upon this brief article explaining just that, What Is Good Mental Health?

What Is Good Mental Health?

Good mental health is not simply the absence of diagnosable mental health problems, although good mental health is likely to help protect against development of many such problems.

Good mental health is characterized by a person’s ability to fulfil a number of key functions and activities, including:

  • the ability to learn
  • the ability to feel, express and manage a range of positive and negative emotions
  • the ability to form and maintain good relationships with others
  • the ability to cope with and manage change and uncertainty.

Agree with this! Everyone has mental health, as well as there being certain mental illnesses. There should be more emphasis on mental health in this way.

Yes it is so easy to always focus on the negative. It is healthier to learn how to focus on positive. Easy to say, but oh so hard to do. It requires daily work.

I can totally agree with this, Dwain! Learning to appreciate the good things in life is a saving grace like no other! Learning to adapt to change and uncertainty has been my hardest but I’m succeeding at it! 🙂
