How Sleep Affects Your Emotions

It’s not just your imagination — you’re more irritable when you’re low on zzzzs. Sleep scientist Matt Walker explains how our nightly slumber affects the emotional centers in our brains, and why we can think of sleep as first aid for our feelings. Sleeping with Science, a TED series, uncovers the facts and secrets behind our nightly slumber. Check out more episodes on TED.com: https://go.ted.com/sleepingwithscience

I have been having difficulty sleeping due to chronic pain. I just posted a blog and started to write about this. A couple of nights ago I got three hours of sleep.

Tangie, I can truly relate to your problems with back pain.
I have suffered with back trouble since my teens. It was just a couple of years that I received cortisone shots. So far they have really helped.
When your back is sore it affects every part of your body. The worse, like you stated, is the lack of sleep due to back pain.
I have learned, when possible, take naps.

Yes, injections help. Wow, since your teens. I watched brain video and wrote down great tips and will do the same with the video on sleep. Thank you for sharing health videos. Hope you have fully recovered from surgery, or near a full recovery.

Thank you Tangie for you vote of confidence! I am glad that you are enjoying and finding tips in the videos I have posted!
It almost seems hard to believe that it will be one year since my hip surgery. I feel I have recovered fully and it is a great feeling.
